Bike to bike Comm.

I am looking for a simple bike to bike communicator. I don't need bluetooth, music, phone, etc...
Simple is good. Opinions?
Thanks, Steve

There are very simple ones out there, Steve... look on ebay.

I have one for sale, but it's hardly simple... I took it on the trip and had pretty much everything wired into it.

My wife and I have been using Cardo Scala Rider Q2's for several years. BT to each other - BT to phone - aux jack for music but no BT music. FM radio too but I rarely use it. Very simple and easy to use. Aux music cuts out when you speak and comes back after about 30 seconds of silence.

Even if you don't need BT to devices - it does seem like BT to each comm unit might still be the way to go. I use a Cardo Scala G4 and bike to bike (or rider/pillion) works pretty well. Bought as a set, I think they actually came pre-paired, and it really just worked out of the box. Charge them up, and each charge was good for a long time, so no power was needed from the bike or extra wiring. The noise cancelling is excellent, people who call me can rarely tell that I'm on a motorcycle.

Placing the speakers properly in the helmet was my only difficulty. They really have to touch your ear to be heard properly. Given that, I would prefer an earbud option, but I can't seem to find one.

I can't mount the speakers close enough to my ears without also causing discomfort after a few hours of riding. It doesn't feel uncomfortable for the first couple hours, but after a full day riding, I want those things off my ears.

Maybe I can hijack the thread a little (as this info might help you as well), but I'm looking for the best integrated Bluetooth system integrated within the helmet. Speakers and mic wired and recessed into the helmet construction. I just want something with all day comfort.

The Sena SMH10 has an base unit that you can buy separately which allows for the use of earbuds. I use that along with a set of personally moulded earbuds (not cheap but very comfortable and they don't fall out or move around).

I don't use bike to bike or person to person but I have music from a smart phone and voice instructions from my GPS.

I am selling my Autocom... and I have to agree. But the SMH10 is simpler to use and set up... but the Autocom has all sorts of brilliant options!

The Schuberth system is built into the lower collar of the helmet and uses Cardo electronics.

LaZer Link Bluetooth Kit - RevZilla
That installed on the Lazer Monaco is probably the sweetest integration I have seen..
But the specs suck, distance is listed at 30ft (WTF?)

I spent 9 weeks testing the Sena SMH-10 and the Scala G9 as well as the Cardo system for the Schuberth helmets.

I do really like the simplicity of the SMH-10 controls. That one jog dial is great. So easy to use, even with winter gloves.
