watched it on MotoGP.com. Pretty good stuff. No rest for the weary eh? They said Lorenzo partied into the wee hours and still tested.

At the beginning had a WTF am I doing here look and after 3 hours and a half decent lap looked like normal service is resumed doesn't count for anything really because the bike is going in the skip come Wednesday and they(Ducati) look to Sepang in febuary and a new bike.
What isn't being said is the major change in personnel that's going on some you'll see and some you won't. |

I still think Crutchlow made a mistake by going to Ducati. I imagine they're paying him more, but that team is a career killer right now. Just look at Dovi.

Pol was fun to watch in the garage. He had a huge grin on his face as he told the tech that he lost count of the gears going into a corner and couldn't figure out where he was. He was having a ball.

Maybe he'll be the second mate from the commonwealth to harness the power of the Duc Beastie.

The bike Cal will get in feb will be nothing like he has now and I'd suggest neither will be like what he has at the end of 14,there's whole new crew going into Ducati and it's clean sheet time but that also takes time.

Sounds like a good plan to me, Chris. They haven't been competitive for quite some time (except in the rain.)

I recall having read a statement from him where he points out that he is leaving to Ducati because of the better economic terms and that he does not give a schyt the Ducati sucks ass. (ok he didn't say the last part but anyway)

If you think he left Yamaha having been made a decent money offer but went to Ducati just because it's big bucks then your mistaken, the joys of him having a great management behind him he got a lot more besides when it came to reorganising the Ducati set up. |

That's not to say that couldn't play out well. Especially if he beats Dovi and Ducati start to not just listen to their riders, but actually do something good with it too in a timely manner. In which case this could end up being the best career move he's ever made. If not, it won't hurt him much either, since not even Rossi could make the damn thing work. He'll just make plenty of money like Nicky and retire comfortably in a few years.

![]() The mistake you and many others make to get into Moto GP you have to do it for nothing to get your foot in the door, very rapidly one becomes aware that breaking your neck for peanuts is not a long term option,Moto GP is a mighty gamble some have the balls to do it and others do not Cal took that financial risk but I know of at least 2 riders that have turned the 014 Pramac job down and preferred to stay in WSB it's much easier being a big fish in a little pond. |

I'm not suggesting anything. But in 2012 he signed a 1 year deal not knowing for sure when the other contracts would end, ending up in a situation where was now: no factory seats available and nowhere to go. He gambled on more options to be available for 2014 and ended up with Ducati as sole option, or go back to WSBK.
You say he was put in the situation, I say he put himself in the situation. He made the choice, he owns the result. I don't care about the reasoning behind it. I don't even care if it was right or the wrong choice at that time or now. I'm sure it was the right one for him when he made it. The point was and is, he made that choice. Nobody did it for him. That's the problem with society these days. Nobody feels they are responsible for the results of their own choices anymore. It's always someone else's fault.

You really haven't got a grasp on this!!! you don't need a 2 year contract if it's a sciht one you roll e'm over any time you like and he could have done for 2014 and they would have put Bradley Smith out to grass in another team, nothing to do with Tech3 they don't pull the strings.
But you'll have to excuse me if I chuckle about your society post!!! there's zero morality in MotoGP . Last edited by Chris Canning; 11-12-2013 at 08:56 AM.. |

why i've personally heard of two traveling carnival ride operators going/fleeing from the US to the big european leagues, landing jobs as truck drivers for the motoGP boys, and not one of them has, so far, been caught/charged with any sort of scandal, beastality or otherwise. and it's been like...maybe two seasons so far. the rest of them however....yea, you got me there.

Actually Brad along the same theme watching the Moto GP testing today they were saying both Lorenzo and Marquez have had a major changes in crews as guys have left and gone else where, and of course Ducati are as well.
As for morality maybe it should have been mentality because from what I've seen sadly lacking in either. |
