Thumbs up streettracker redux, part VII

Hi guys..some of t he old timers may remember me, props to the new kids on the block.
As some of you know, I've been seriously ill for a couple of years now, sold my beloved Brunhilda R1100S to someone who sold it to someone who reads the board...anyway, my last project as I rolled out of my hi-dollar house with an ocean view and a shop to a 55+ retirement community with disabled services...so here's the HD streettracker that was gonna be my supermoto bike.
stock frame rejiggered to have XR750 steering geometry, my swingarm, whitcher machine triple clamps, fork brace, caliper mounts, etc, etc. real magnesium wheels from a TZ750, I built the seat from scratch, made the decals in photoshop and then painted the bike in my tiny paint booth in the old shop (I'm cryin' as I miss it already but NOW every thing, house, etc, is paid for in cash, no credit cards or bills)
whadda think..let the harsh flames of derision soar high *grin*

I like the red air filter(?) and hate the license location.

Good luck.

Good to see you posting. The project looks terrific. Who did the headers - they're great looking.

The rug really ties the room together, Dude.

I like it a lot. I love the old racer/cafe racer thing. Glad to see you are still messing with bikes.

Take care,
Lane

Hey JRR, Good to hear you're still kicking & BTW love the project bike. I miss all your fuel mixing posts ( and the stuff about peak oil & government conspiracies ) those were the daze. Gotta love a guy who keeps his bikes on a carpet in his workshop. Be well!

Geogous bike, too bad Hardley Abelson couldn't follow that track longer, a good handling lighter v-twin bike is very appealing, I agree with RB put that tag holder/taillight in the middle.

John... glad to see that you are at least still lusting over bikes!

Beautiful bike... I was thinking of doing something like that to my XL1200S. However, you have ruined my aspirations, as I'd never even come close to what it should be... like yours!

Bastard

Seriously, hope things are at least under control!

no flames here, man! That's a piece to be proud of, and prouder still that you're still passionate. And I bet you're making tons of retirement community friends when you fire that thing up! (NOT!!)

Hi John - I especially like the reference to Black Bart on the side cover - as a gearhead's kid in the late 50's & early 60's, I grew up following the flat track circuit with my dad and Triumph / BMW dealer uncle, and he treated us like we belonged there. Tough guy - golden gloves, hard core racer, and genuinely good guy for a kid to look up to. I can't think of many names I'd rather have on the side of my track'er.

Nice bike - I, too, prefer the taillight and tag centered in the "normal" location instead of off to one side, but it's beautiful - well done, my friend.

hi all, thanks!
RB, buddy, I know the taillight lashup looks fecal-ey-waste-y, but that's the only thing that has not fallen into place naturally and I'm gonna change it, tho to what I don't know...suggestions are solicited *grin*.
I'm kinda proud of the paint job, first basecoat-clearcoat 2-part paint I ever shot, all in that shop...with enough eastwood european clear on it, anything looks good...

what's so neat about this is that it actually slides and was really raced 3 seasons by a former natl#25, todd bowne, in the sportster challenge series, for pros without an XR750 budget....this whole bike costs less than an XR engine rebuild after 20 hours.

i'm pretty sure that if i rolled up on that thing in a canyon somewhere, i'd think three or four times before poking the guy who rides it.
looks like it would walk away from my BCR on corner exit.

that's one wicked carbonation set-up.
how did you end up there?
