Hello all, I have just joined the Forum, I am picking up a 99 1100S tomorrow. I live in Australia and have a K100 and a Harley also. I know that Forums are a wealth of knowledge and look forward to utilising this one in the future.

There is really no need to use google translate, Bubba... they do speak English in OZ!

And so it begins....

Welcome....

The above is what makes most of us laugh...

Come for the knowledge, stay for the entertainment..... We don't serve drinks, but we do have threads on those for you....

And it definitely helps with the reading, but not universally endorsed when working on the bike.

welcome~!

i'm sure you read the brochure and signed the waiver, but here's the high points:
  • You have to give Steve Carlton $59.97, plus VAT if you don't live in Paraguay.
  • Everybody gets the tattoo. Everybody. A notarized photographed document is generally accepted as proof.
  • We don't talk about that incident with FlatButt and the three goats. We just don't.
  • We recently lost one of our better members, Jeff Williams, and you are handicapped due to not having known him.
  • Don't believe anything the Captain says. There's an 800-pound gorilla roaming around here and he's usually accurate but that Captain guy....maybe not so much.
  • It's "beemer" not "bimmer". That will get you burned if anyone can find a stake.

If something breaks, or you just have a question, please don't be alarmed with you ask three guys and they have five opinions. It just works that way around here.

Ah, Austrialia. I remember when I was in Vienna and all those wonderful struddles and cookies and the trollys und die Weibe- ja, die Weibe!. And, what a great history of music and the arts. And, it's so close to so many other great countries. I bet you have a pic of your 1100S with the snow-capped mountains in the background.

haha...I think post 7 & 8 were supposed to be, like Dumb and Dumber funny. If anyone has ever watched the movie one of my favorite parts is when Lloyd is driving the limo and asked the pretty girl at the airport directions to the university, after the directions he comments on her accent. Says she is from Austria.....and he says; Well put another shrimp on the barbee! She says lets not!

Funny stuff!

Well guys I just got back home with the new 1100 in the back of my ute. Drove 850km yesterday to view the bike, made an offer last night that was accepted and just got home from another 850km trip to test ride and buy the bike. I love the humour, and am sitting here typing this with a hard earned smiling. Appreciate the welcome and will post some pics once I unload the bike tomorrow. Can't remember who asked but I also live in South Australia (little known Provence of Austria).

Thanks guys

Enjoy the bike. Your riding season is going to be fun. You speak good English for an Aussie.

Welcome, don't forget the pics, and while you're online, pay the 'Show your scoot' page a visit, nice ideas and nice bikes there too! Enjoy your bike and be safe.

Ok so I have unloaded and ridden the Bike. Love the bike and the feel. Was really surprised by the Torque and power of the Bike. Was even more happy to find that my concerns over the original owner (from new) lack of information on servicing was put to rest by finding the books under the seat with numerous service stamps. Must admit it was a unusual transaction with a few communication issues, but glad I persisted and am very happy with the Bike and the Price I paid.

Would I be correct in thinking that I need to place my pictures onto a sharing site to then place on this site? have had a few quick attempts but Failed. Will do some reading and find the method and place a few pics.
