Flash-2-Pass

I installed one of these in my bike last night. What a cool device that thing is. The transmitter fit perfectly in the right side relay/fuse box. Literally fit like it was meant to be there. I am a clever bastard when it comes to wiring (if I do say so myself) and spliced the power wire into the bike-side headlight plug harness with a shielded butt-splice and heat-shrink. I get these really good splices from work. Anyway, I rewrapped the harness and it all looks factory-new.

Now if my damned HID kit would get here . I ordered one from DDM almost three weeks ago. I emailed them a while back and asked about a tracking number. They replied with a strange rambling email, never did send me a valid tracking number, and implied that the kit was shipped from China. Why would an outfit that maintains three retail stores on the left coast fill internet orders from China?

flash-2-pass is an automatic garage door opener.
i've had mine for almost 10 years now (different brand), would never give it up.

only problem is that when i leave the headlight modulator in "fast blink" mode, the garage door tries to play the open/close game when starting the bike.

still, the best accessory you can get, especially when you come home wet and cold. it's great to ride right into the garage without getting off to open it.

not sure it works with the HID lights though. don't ride at night, don't have killer lighting.

Where did you purchase the flash to pass kit?

BTW - I hope your HID lights from China work better than mine from Amazon. For some damn reason I get an intermittent LAMPF! warning and the low beam will not light. I reinstalled the stock bulb for a few weeks and it worked fine. I tested the HID bulb again and it also worked well. Then just last week I noticed the LMAPF! warning again.

Could my ballast or power supply be going bad? Not sure if it may be a battery voltage deal. Last week after rolling out of the driveway and riding for a few miles I switched the ignition off and back on again and she lit.

I really don't feel like taking off all the Tupperware to trouble shoot the HID wiring.

I bought my F2P kit on Amazon.

Rique, the Falsh2Pass kit is wired into the power wire to the high beam headlight. To operate it you give your high-beam switch two, quick flashes. The transmitter picks this up and sends a signal to open your garage door. The kit comes with the transmitter for the bike and a receiver. The receiver takes the place of the door opener switch mounted on the garage wall. There is no obvious switch added to the bike. Very clean. Sorry, there isn't anything to take a picture of.

Based on what Ive read here I just bought one HID kit for my low beam.

You might try replacing the lamp first, the more common failure, before checking the wiring. I am on my third one in the R1100S. I also have them in my truck and very rarely the left one doesn't light on startup. After a quick off/on it always lights. Someday I might replace it.

I carry a keychain garage door opener in my tank bag. Easy.

Oh, every once in a while it needs a 9v battery.

I mounted an outside coded opener on the garage door frame.
I did not want to carry any more crap with me and with 5 bikes to ride, installing one of these gizmos on each bike would cost a fortune.

Great idea though! I think you would have more fun if you hooked it up to the horn switch.........especially if you live in a condo and work shifts!

Cheers

Same, except in my case its 3 bikes. Plus its way easier to give a GF the garage code rather than a key. Changing the code is much more convenient than re-keying all the doors. Voice of experience.

HID kit arrived today. They sent the wrong hulbs.

I waited three weeks for these and they sent the wrong bulb.

I ordered H1, they sent H10. Pisses me off.

I thought all Asians were math geniuses.

if it really was shipped from china, then it's quite possible that you've experienced one of the more puzzling traditions over there.

in some factories, it's way more important to ship the product than it is to ship the product with the correct components.
i've seen more than one manufacturing company struggle with that attitude when working with companies in china.
getting the box out the door and the order checked off the list is more important than the contents.
somehow that's perceived as a good thing over there. i don't get it.
