BMW Roundel Suspension

Does anyone have any experience with,.or know anything about "Hyper Pro" shocks for the R1100s ? I've seen a few sets for sale on eBay, they are crazy affordable, like less than 1/2 the price of Ohlins. They gotta be better than stock.

They also have nice HPAs Elka used to be that way too (generally spec'ing too light of a spring) but have come around in the last year or so and also have nice HPAs
Öhlins has the broadest support,
Elka's is good and growing,
Works is small, but domestic and competent
Hyper Pro are decent but with spotty support
Bitubo is decent with VERY spotty parts and support
Wilbers is variable in tuning selection, and poor in parts and support

That may have been fair comment when it was made but Wilbers have made tremendous inroads into the market in recent years,re Hyperpro contact Throttlemiester he's had a set on for years.

Give me an example of how much you see the Hyper Pro shocks going for on eBay. Chances are pretty good when you buy used shocks that they'll need refreshing and possibly different springs. Have you compared that to a quote on Ohlins from Pro-Pilot Racing, for example? Pro-Pilot will include the springs you want for no extra charge and will probably set them up for you specifically, so you'll have turn-key new shocks. The resale value of your bike will probably be higher with the most highly regarded shocks or you can sell them separately later for more than used Hyper Pros as well.

I run two bike with Ohlins and the other with Wilbers on a road bike you sure wouldn't want to live on the difference but if your in the US and looking to buy new I'd talk to this guy and then see if there's better bargain second hand wise.

$588.00 rear & about $30.00 less for the front,..the ad suggested a 10 day wait for build time which indicates a similarity to Wilber's . At any rate, Ohlins are a couple grand for the full setup.( although I've heard from many that they're worth it)

Yeah, it's kind of hard to justify putting that much money into the shocks considering what the bike is worth. Pro Pilot discounts the Ohlins, but I don't know how much below $2K they are these days. They can rebuild your stockers and make them better than original pretty cheap.

I guess so...so why do elderly get knees and hip replacements? Considering they have buzzers flying by, it's hard to justify the costs of surgery and implants. Let them all limp to death!

Got nothing to do with it because they can always be sold separately and judging by how rare they are coming up forsale will never be a problem getting rid of them.

But the mistake that's always made buying aftermarket shocks never compare price compare spec because very often they ain't the same,Ohlins are expensive and so is every other make if they come at Ohlins spec,of course the next question!! do you need that spec.

You only rent good suspension, when you get ready to part with the bike, reinstall the originals, and recoup 75% of your money. In the meantime enjoy the benefits of premium suspension.

Yeah, a buddy can usually dig a OEM set up for you.
