injector maintenance

the automotive service industry has equipment and chemicals that flush fuel injectors to remove deposits that develope over time. Is it neccessary(beneficial) to do this type of maintenance on the Beemer?

Cool

Run 1/4-1/2 bottle of Techron about 500 miles before your next oil change...that'll flush your orifices right clean

Techron is the only over the counter stuff that Ive seen actually work.
BG makes some excellent products, but can be hard to get ahold of since they dont sell to public.

my GS with ~50K was running a little ruff at Idle (may have gotten bad fuel so I replaced the plugs changedthe fuel filter
and ran the Techcron did not do the trick 1 bottle in 2 consecutive tanks

and it happened in this months MC news they mentioned Marvel mystery oil down the air intake which I did and was shocked at how much better it ran after that …..so I Put a can into the fuel but since it was now holding proper Idle I can't say it made much difference in the tank

Normally, you don't need to clean your injectors. I've avoided all the snake oils for better than 25 years and my motors all be fine. If you do have reason to believe your injectors are dirty, techron isn't bad. I prefer Berryman B12. I've yet to see a bad beemer injector, even back to '85 that ever had a problem not related to being left to sit multiple years.

I think it's more of a build up on the intake valves then dirty injectors.
From what I seen when I bore scope the engine a couple of years ago.

I was really referring to using something like a "motorvac" marketed through "Snap-on" that they use on cars. It disconnects the fuel system and runs the engine on a chemical that cleans all deposits from the engine. I don't believe in snake oil either, However I have used the General motors bottle of topend engine cleaner in older cars, with fantastic results. I was curious if anyone had experience using a motorvac system on the BMW.
