Thumbs down My season is over, crashed bike

Accidents happen, especially when there is abundant oil on the road. The minute I touched this oil I lost both the front and rear at the same time doing about 80kmh in a wide curve accessing the highway (A6 at Almeerderzand).

I hit the pavement quite hard and have a very very sore back but I'm otherwise fine. The bike is in less good shape. The whole frontside looks like it was dropped from a 3 story building. The bike will be with my dealer by Tuesday. Let's see what he can do with it. Being insured all-risk I hope something good comes from all this *****, like a new bike, helmet and leathers.

I'm glad I had my racesuit on or I would have been typing this from either the hospital or from St. Peters port...

If I feel OK on Tuesday I will go to my dealer and make some pics.

Sorry to hear that Rob.
( S don't crash well, and often the front side gets damaged )
I crashed my S at race track in June.
The bike rolled over and over. And is still under repair...

Hope you and your bike get well soon.

My sympathies Rob -- the last two times I went down was due to oil on the road -- get well soon.

Hi Rob,

Sorry to hear about your wipeout too.
Oil and gravel are the worst. Hope you do get a new ride out of it. Glad you were wearing the leathers too. Hope the aches don't last too long. Take care

Roger

Sorry to hear it Rob. Will no one rid us of this crashing pox? Time for me to re-read my David Hough "Proficient Motorcycling" and "Street Survival Strategies" books. Even that is no guarantee though! Sometimes compost just happens. Hope your insurance goes smoothly. All the best.

Rob, glad to hear that you're OK. I'm also waiting to see what the insurance outcome of "OFF" last week will be.

All the best!

You too? Which race track did you crash at? Did you get hurt?

That's a bummer .... oil and rubber just don't mix well. Glad you’re not hurt to seriously. Think of some good bike projects with the down time.

Hi MarkC,

Yes, I did it too,,,
On the last corner at Tsukuba circuit, it's high speed corner as you know well...
I only broke few ribs, and completely recovered now. Thank you very much!

Sorry to hear about the crash Rob, hope you feel better.

Conditions sound like ErricZ's mishap... cage piss on superslab ramps. While those ramps always have nicely laid out corners, the G's seem to shake the excess dribble off the end of cage dick.

Too many stories of S's going down lately, including some that haven't been posted... this is depressing..

Glad you're still alive...****e! Unfortunately as they say, there are riders who have crashed, and there are riders who are going to crash
