Db killers HP2S Akrapovic

Anyone know where I can get a set of db killers for an HP2S Akrapovic. Thx.

Stu

shreddr 05-14-2014 03:08 AM

try Akrapovic

RoLoo 05-14-2014 10:30 AM

or for example : Akrapovic Shop: Akrapovic Slip-On, megaphone, db-killer | weissracing.at (and page 4)

and you need these kind of numbers

Gotta ask why as they sound spectacular without them!

Cheers

Out of province inspection, don't want to take any chances, as soon as I pass (hopefully) they're gone. Was hoping to find some if they weren't too expensive. From RoLoo's reply looks like around €60 each, not bad, but don't speak or read German so wouldn't have a clue what to order. As per Shreddr I found Akrapovic's site and sent them an email. Phoned San Jose BMW hoping they might have some laying around that no one wanted but no luck. Anyone out there got some they want to sell, or even rent? Thanks for the reply's. I'm a new HP2 owner, so I'm on a learning curve.:)

I can loan you a set for the inspection. I'll be wanting them back. They are just sitting in a box. Of course I'd like shipping both ways plus a half sack of beer covered.

Don't be such a dickhead...........ask for a full case of beer!http://forums.pelicanparts.com/support/smileys/wat6.gif

LCP, thanks for the offer, I'll let you know, I will gladly pay shipping both ways and a case of good old Calgary beer, 'Big Rock'. Waiting to take delivery of the bike and talk to the local BMW dealer about the out of province inspection and how much of an issue 'noise' will be. Things getting tougher here because of all the loud Harleys, and, to be fair, the Jap bikes with pipes. We have drive-by noise traps now in Calgary mostly targeting bikes. I've heard a few video clips of the HP2S with the Akro and it does not sound too bad at idle and low-med. revs, can any of you guys comment on this? Ordered RV6's bars and a carbon hugger from ,of all places, Amazon. Cheers

LCP outstanding, thanks for the offer, of course I'll pay the shipping and get you a case of good Calgary beer 'Big Rock'. I'll get back to you, currently awaiting arrival of the bike and going to talk to the local BMW dealer about the out of province inspection and the 'noise' issue.

excellent solution!

In Canada they sell beer by the sack? Over the pond I think its by the crate and in the US its by the case.

Half-Sack – a 6-bottle pack of beer. (NEVER HEARD BEER TO BE IN A PACK BEFORE _ WHOLE NEW INVESTIGATION)

Usage: “I have a half-sack of cold Moosehead in the car.”

If a noise test is part of the out of town inspection be 100% assured that you will be full of fail without the DB killers. One of the best sounding setups ever. Where did you get the bike??? It's not part of the inspection in BC.

What is this? The stock set up is very comfy if you are talking about some clip ons. Can't imagine changing it. Link?

Edit: Found it. They seem nicely done. Check the stock setup first.

Must have mod is to change the mirrors to R1000SS mirrors. I just redrilled a couple holes in the Carbon (cause there is zero chance of going back). But you can get a swanky mount for them:

LCP, sorry for the double post, first one never showed up so did a second shorter one the next day. The issue in Alta. with the out of province is 'modified exhaust' ie. people making the exhaust louder by removing a baffle (Harley). I'm going to try the stock bars first but good reviews on RV6 bars at BMW Racer, Rider site. Trying to save wear and tear on already damaged elbows. Thanks for the link to the mirrors, will try the stock mirrors first, but I've read they are lousy. Bought the bike out of Ontario, should be here this week.

There were 4 bikes raced back east by a BMW factory team for 2 seasons. They had 2 riders and 4 bikes. 3 were shipped to BC and sold by Pacific Motorsports after being cleaned up. They all had Akro's. I bought one of these. My VIN is 60139. Another one was 60143. My guess is yours could be 60142. I have had no issues with mine after a few years. The only other thing I needed to do was change the front spring back to a stock one as the racers used a very stiff one.

Very, very, likely (probably) it was a race bike. Like I said mine runs very strong and has had zero issues. There are a few tells I can explain to confirm it. Do you have a carbon Snorkel? Is there a rheostat in there for rich/lean tuning? (I took mine off and put on a booster plug). On mine for some reason some wires are cut in the right side switch gear that would have made heated grip install easy. I would not be surprised that the engine parts were hand picked for balance etc and I definitely know they spent a ton of money on tweaking the Ohlins (like $25,000 for the 4 bikes). Also, is there evidence of carbon repair in the rear subframe (behind the seat). Both the ones I've seen have had some repair there. Are bolts drilled for safety wire? Brakes, oil plug, etc.

We'll see, bike still en route, it does have the carbon intake. What do you mean by a booster plug, something else to adjust the mixture?

Well that said its 100% an ex factory race bike as I suspected from miniute one. Nice.

You now have a 50/50 chance that one of the two bikes in those posters is yours. Our bikes are brothers and mine is the S*H*I*T. It really is.
