Greetings from Chicago

Hello everybody,

I've been on Pelican for years… but new to BMW form.

Had a K1200RS years ago, but always looked after boxer models. I'm a big fan of air cooled engines.

Recently ran into 02'R11S with UNDER(!) 2KMi on it and couldn't resist myself ))

The bike rides totally different from my Ducati's and Harley…

Now I'm thinking to make a move on HP2S trying to educate myself with this model. Never seen one unclose and don't know how much different it would be from R11S (probably a lot).

If I'll decide to pull a trigger on HP2 my R11S will be available for sale.

Currently own a few more bikes

93 Ducati 900SS Superlight MK-I with 12KMi
93 Ducati 900SS Superlight MK-I with 2000Mi
98 Ducati 900SS Final Edition 10KMi
06 Ducati Paul Smart 300 Mi
06 Ducati Pauls Smart 2KMi just sold in shipping process
11 HD Road Glide 103

Best to all,
lipamax

Greeting from the south burbs! I grew up in the northern burbs......many decades ago.

Nice bikes you have in your collection......I always liked the Superlight.

I have been lurking here for a couple of years and then a few months ago bought a R1200s from a member on the board. I have found that there is a wealth of information available through the board.

Besides the R1200s I have 1991 BMW K1 with 11K miles and my every day bike is a 2011 BMW R1200RT with 21K miles on it.

Having had an R1100S and HP2S (still have) I can safely say they both have their charms. I see you don't have a sport touring bike in the barn and the R1100S is a good one.

But your are comparing apples and oranges. Maybe that should be apples and unicorns - if you want an HP2S and see a nice one at a decent price don't miss it. You seem to be a collector. The HP2S is definitively collectable. The fastest and most visceral air cooled boxer that will ever be. Rare, rare, rare. Fantastic farkles come stock. Forged wheels. Carbon fiber everywhere. A gorgeous milled triple - nicest I have ever seen. Gorgeous rear sets. They pulled out all the stops. Its my favourite ride as well. Just heading out tomorrow for 2 days of twisty hunting once again.

Thanks guys!

Always good to see homeboys... ))

Those Superlight feels like an early 911 race cars light and raw… fun!
Just posted my Superlight for sale on Ducati forum.
Have another Paul Smart with 300 miles Termi Shotguns and DP, which I'm going to sell as well.
Gotta make some room in garage.

Speaking of HP2 what should I look for? Any known issues?
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
