Cascade MC in Kirkland Wa sells a mount. It would sit in the middle of the top triple clamp slightly behind the key

I've put together a mounting system that works great for me. I've got somephotos here:

http://photos.yahoo.com/r1150rtsilverbird

Give me a couple of days and I'll post some better ones. Basically, it's a RAM mount that uses the tapped holes beneath the triple clamp - which are otherwise reserved for the clip on bars. Go to

http://cycoactive.com/gps/gallery/bmw_gpsmount.html

and look at the mount that's there for the R1100RT. It's the second one down. I had that on my old RT (that's my bike in the photo). I moved the "grab11" to the S. It fits under the triple clamp. The bolt in the photo drives downwards. For the S, you have to go upwards and use a smaller bolt. The entire assembly is barely noticeable if the GPS is not installed and it doesn't interfere with the handling of the bike or the plastic.

To finish the install, I hard wired the connection for the GPS.

Another source for RAM mounts is www.cyclegadgets.com.

I've got one of their RAM mounts that replaces the BMW roundel in the middle of the triple clamp. I'm likely going to sell it as I don't care for it as much as the one I put together.

Heres a picture of the Cascade mount on my S.

Heres the other "side" also just showing the loudspeaker which I attach to the bike using a cockpit magnet. An extra power socket is also mounted on the left side of the cockpit. A garmin aeriel is again magnet mounted on the right side.

Clocks are totally visible to me when riding.

HTH
Cheers

I used this Cascade/Martin mount back when I had my R1100S and when the Street Pilot Color was new.
It worked well. Pretty solid.

Theres also another mount to consider. Saeng makes a mount that attaches to one of the top of the forks. They also have mounts that attach to the forks under the triple clamp.
Both Martin and Saeng are good quality, but Saeng has gotten rather expensive lately.
