Pushrods
I think a pretty interesting thread at the MOA forum regarding new-design pushrods for our motors.
push rods It's my approach to always install "upgraded" parts, so I'm going to put the new style items in mine. (Have already updated throttle control and windscreen mounting) Also I'm determined to get my motor a little quieter and the left-side chain tensioner thing hasn't helped. A cursory search doesn't reveal this previously discussed here, but would be interested in input from those familiar with this topic.

I think Paul Glaves statement in that thread will give you the quiet you desire. My 2002 is silent after correctly setting the end play.
"My hunch is that the rocker end play is causing the noise. The specification is a very broad range. Setting the end play near the maximum is very noisy. Near the minimum it is quite quiet."

Some of you guys are going to need to invest in better earplugs if you want to truly enjoy your BMW experience.
