Staintune Before and After

The old Staintunes clean up well after 15 years and 65K miles of use:

assuming you didn't lick them clean...what did ya use on them?

thinking about taking mine off and sparkling them up.

They tasted too salty, so I used WD-40 and #00 steel wool to remove the tar and grime, #0000 to remove nicks and scratches, and Autosol polish paste on a paper towel to bring back the shine.

same system i use, minus the autosol, when i clean mine.

they looked so nice, i was hoping maybe there was a less messy, easier way.

guess not.

yea, mine are salty too. i thought it was because i live near the beach, but you're in nebraska, so that kills that theory.

She spent the first 13 years with me on the Texas Gulf Coast. Now, we try to avoid Nebraska road salt.

Those look great. When I did my old ZTechnic, many years ago, I used elbow grease and Bar Keeper's Friend. It's formulated to remove stains from stainless steel in the hospitality business. Works great.
