My Travels on a r1100s BCR Video / Suggestion wanted for service in Denver
Here is a Video I put together of my recent travels around the States on a 2004 r1100s BCR -
A short introduction of myself. I have been a long time lurker on the forum and found my BCR here a few years back and the bike has been a joy to own. I have been traveling the States for 2 weeks at a time over the past year. In May I went from New York to Portland and left my bike at a friends house and then continued the trip in September riding Portland, Canadian Rockies, and then leaving the bike in Denver. For the next leg of the trip I am thinking Denver - Albuquerque - Austin Tx - New Orleans - Tennessee - West Virginia then New York at the end of April. Since I have recently been laid off I will have more then 2 weeks for the trip. Before I start the next part of the trip the bike needs its tires changed. Also long and painful story short it appears my transmission output seal is leaking again. On my trip I had it changed by two different dealers and started to leak within a few days of them completing the Job. So now it leaks on to the Cat and smokes quite a bit. Also the high Idle Cable needs to be fixed. Any suggestions or recommendations of where in the Denver area I can have this work done? Any advise will be greatly appreciated. Thanks! |

Not sure if you are looking for an authorized BMW dealer, or an independent shop.
There's two authorized dealers in Denver: BMW of Denver Foothills BMW in Lakewood. There is a BMW motorcycle dealer up in Loveland also. Northern Colorado Euro Cycles. Then there is a dealer in Grand Junction, Co. I don't know any of the independent shops.

If you're going to use a dealer for your needs, I'd suggest a large bottle of astroglide, a reverse mortgage on your home, and having seen you're in KO, a very large bag of weed.

Nitro your not kidding, I'm looking to avoid a dealer as I've been burnt by two so far and can't afford being burnt by a third. Looking for an independent shop or a trusted machanic.

Try Beemers and More in Fort Collins
PocoMike,
I lived in Colorado for 6 years. I had Beemers and More work on my BMW K75s. I bought a used R1100s in 2011 from them, that they did all the service on for the previous owner. They are quite a bit less money than an authorized dealer. Steve is the owner. Call and talk to him first. He is very friendly and honest. They have recently changed their name to Moto Italia. MOTORCYCLE SCOOTER SALES SERVICE FT COLLINS COLORADO BMW DUCATI Good luck. |

Nice video too.
Short and sweet. Not simply a video of a persons flapping pant leg. Looks like you covered a lot of the "must rides." Highway 550, Moki Dugway, Highway 12...

Had a great experience with BMW Denver with an unexpected problem a couple years ago. Seemed competent and fair and even gave me a T shirt!

I haven't had any work done by them , but I buy my parts from them and they seem like a nice shop.

Thanks for checking out the video and all the feedback! At the very least I'm looking for new tires and getting the high idle cable fixed and maybe bring gear oil and check it at the end of the day, even though as I type this that's probably not the best of ideas. @EZ-RIDER Good eye, yup that's Cannon beach been wanting to go there since I have been a kid, it was a great way to end the first leg of the trip. I used ram mounts to secure a mono-pod (i know selfie stick) to the luggage rack. When i was on the boring interstate I would just collapse and tilt the mono pod parallel with the bags. Also had it wired to the bike.
