New 2 me R1200S

Another newbi owner here, was originally shopping for a light weight DS bike, and ended up with a yellow R12s Lol . I kinda always wanted one , not exactly sure why, so far i managed to ride it over 1000km in the last few weeks so it feels like a good fit now after getting suspension ironed out. Yellow bike with Ohlins and wider tire other than that its stock.

Few things i need to add, first some kind of center stand don’t really want pit bull stands. Search brought up Wunderlinch stand is that a good way to go? Is it easy to use and stable enough to remove tires for servicing with additional blocking.

Side stand is way to short , what’s the easiest recommended way to lengthen it was thinking of adding a larger foot maybe wider and higher.
Always had good luck Downloading repair manuals here BMW service manuals for download, free! not this time was the wrong one. Seems Hard to find online manual for r12s specifically is official repair DVD combined with other BMW Bikes. And i guess i need advise on list of priority service tools as well.

Every time i do a search brings me to this site seems like good place say hi and ask.
cheers

Great bike and I miss my yellow one. I had good luck with PitBull but I'm sure the wunderlich would be good.

Welcome, I have an ABBA stand (as well as original BMW stand) I use on my BCR as well, find them brilliant.

BMW or Pit Bull stands both work great. With a Pit Bull, it's easy to push the bike around due to the wheels on the stand.

How's this for a side stand......I think it was lengthened 2".

Hexhead stand......

Cheers

You might me able to get a more upright position on the stand by heating and bending the stand inward. I did that on mine and was able to achieve a less exaggerated lean angle.

Thanks for the info... Becker center stand looks good. can you easily remove front wheel for servicing with pitt bull stands?

Nice Job on the side stand did you have it fabed or did you do it yourself

Side stand was built by one of my welders.

You need both a front and rear Pit Bull. When both Pit Bull stands are used, you can have all wheels removed from the bike. Front wheel can not be removed when using only a rear stand.

I have a BMW rear stand, a Pit Bull that has the arm going to the front and I made my own front stand.

Cheers

Jeff!!! Congrats! I have Pitt Bulls for and back and yes you can change either or both wheels when mounted. I use them a lot. That is possibly the ex-Vancouver demo BMW R1200S they took touring groups into Europe with. You rode mine in back woods Oregon years ago is why you always wanted one perhaps?

Hey LCP.....if this guy is a Left Coaster, maybe it's time to show him that black is not the slowest colour!

Jeff, if you want to try both a BMW and a Pit Bull stand, you are welcome to drop by and check them out.
You bring the beer after that "black" comment!

Cheers
