Gear Oil: C-SAF-XO vs Hypoid Gear Oil
I've always used the red Hypoid Gear Oil in the transmission and final drive of my R11S. My dealer tried selling me a Final Drive Gear Oil C-SAF-XO for my transmission. Both are API GL-5, which may answer my question.
Although the Hypoid Gear Oil is spec'd for the 1100s and the C-SAF-XO for the 1200s, is it okay to use the new stuff in the old 1100 gearboxes and final drives? -Jeff
