Removing front turn signals
Anyone have any insight on how to remove the black front turn signal pods? I wasn't sure if I need to remove the body work to do it. I can't find anything on-line. One of mine was damaged so I bought some carbon fiber replacements.
Thanks- http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1461952493.jpg |
You guessed it, the body work has to come off.

Ever had the panels off? |
It's like just about everything on these, total pita. The only thing that's half way easy is a valve & chain adjustment.
:D |
I have had the the body panels off many times, I just swapped the battery and bled the brakes talk about PITA!!!

SeabeckS- Once the panels are off is pretty evident what needs to be done?

BigDL it is clear once you get the panels off. It's been many years but there are some flat slotted clips that you have to remove..maybe screw.

There's a notch on bottom of lens towards front, a fine blade screwdriver will prise it out.

Not that bad. Get the fairing off> then two black screws in the corner of the turn signal pod > followed by two clips that secure tabs that fasten tabs at the bottom of the pod - those were a *****. The carbon fiber pieces look nice, but the fit is a bit off from the originals. Noone will notice but me but...
It was only a 3 beer job. Thanks to all for the input.http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1462065495.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1462065559.jpg http://forums.pelicanparts.com/uploa...1462065603.jpg |
Nice job, looks pretty sweet...how much did the pods cost? They might look good on my gray/mandarin S....
