Any Pelicans near Fairport NY? FD failure.

Wife and I rode 2-up to national rally in Hamburg from St. Louis- experienced a Final drive failure (145,000 miles). Just received the news from Country Rode Motorwerks. The money isn't an issue but the parts would take three weeks. Looks like we're going to uhaul it home. Any other recommendations for one way long distance transport?

Also checking for local Pelicans just in case... Don't necessarily need anything at the moment.

I used this company once. Great service and communication on both the pickup and delivery.

Apparently Keyboard is all booked for Sturgis... Probably go with them anyway. They can guarantee pickup week after next.

It's off a non abs bike if that's what you have, but truly they don't go bad that often to want to keep a spare around.

If you are an MOA member look at the MOA website under Tool Kit, Member Discounts. There are three or four bike haulers that offer discounts. Problem is it may be days or weeks before they can get to you.

I am in Batavia, 1/2 hour west of Rochester. If you are still around and I can help let me know.

Thanks PFFOG and others- wound up going with Keyboard Shipping and renting a car for the remainder of the trip. Luckily the dealer was okay with holding the bike until shipped. That was my main concern. Uhaul won't rent anything smaller than a 10' box truck one way, and most if not all car rental companies won't allow pulling a trailer. Not a huge deal unless you're one of the last dozen people still at a rally of 6,100 folks or so. We definitely cashed in some of our good karma points but everything so far has worked out well all things considered. Pretty sure I can patch things up at home with another Pelicans help (you know who you are!).

CoffeGuy, I'm glad you were able to get things in order. I couldn't understand why you didn't rent a car or pickup and a trailer and trailer it home. Now I know. Best of luck.
