R1200 injector kit for R1100S and R1150xx

Just saw this thread from the BMWMOA forum.

A kit that supplies adapters and used ( multi spray ) fuel injectors from an R1200 for 160 Euros.

Tills - R1100S and R1150xx Upgrade Set, with matched Injectors R1200

For an add'l amount of 35 Euros , you can order the kit with new fuel injectors.

Tills - ZUSATZOPTION - Neue R1200 Einspritzventile statt generalüberholte

They also have a kit for R1100xx motorcycles.

As an FYI, the 2004 R1100S is multi spray - I think it's 4. I'll edit this sentence if I'm wrong.

Greatest benefit would be for a change from single nozzle hole to a multi nozzle hole
fuel injector - greater atomization of the fuel, thus increasing total fuel combustion.

actually the balanced injector output makes the motor run smoother,
it is done on cars as well.
probably a good thing on the type of injection on the 1100s which drives both sides with the
same pulse width.

+1. Equal flow, equal on/off time are the most important thing you can do to smooth the R1100S/R1150 engine. That and lambda-shifting the mixture a few percent richer with an LC-2 or AF-XIED.

If replacement injectors lead to perfect balance, that's a good thing but I'd test new injectors before installing them.

The bikes most likely to benefit from the R1200 injectors are the older oilheads (R1100xx, R1100GS) because they have Bosch EV1 single spray nozzles.
My 2004 R110S has Bosch EV6 injectors with 4 spray holes.
The kit includes matched Bosch EV14 injectors with 4 spray holes.

Greatest improvement to the R1100S would be that the injectors are matched.

I tried for the longest time not give in to temptation, but I am weak.
I ordered a kit and expect it to arrive in about a weeks time (DHL delivery).
The kit seller, Tills, will not sell just the adapter alone.

My motorcycle already runs pretty well.
Before I installed the AF-XIED -
After new day start up on my motorcycle , while riding slow for the first minute or two I could feel a slight surge. After warm up I might be able to feel the slightest surge while riding fast and slow.
After I installed the AF-XIED -
I think the slight surge feel has improved.

The old girl has been lacking some TLC in recent years and finally got around to putting a stiffer spring on my Ohlins and might have a punt on these as well.

I checked the part numbers at realoem.com

For 1998, 2001, and 2004 production, all R1100S have same part number for injector. They are all 4-hole

Tills has sourced an adapter to fit the R1200 fuel injectors to our bikes.

The bottom black step-down piece is the adapter.

Thanks, this last photo really helps. I need more than just O-rings (I have), I need the adapter too but I do not see it listed separately on their site, so I guess it's either make them or buy their whole kit.

Bad:

See the other thread I started.
Fuel injector adapters from Injector-Rehab.com

Adapters can now be bought without the fuel injectors from Injector-Rehab out of NJ, USA.

I´ll ask again on this thread. Has anybody done the swap and can comment on engine response or improvement if any?

I was too late getting back to this, already ordered injectors with adapters. Looks like I have 2 R1200S injectors for sale.

Nothing to stop you sticking your head up above the trench like others have had to do!!!!

My kit came yesterday and the instructions that came with it differ slightly from the link

Interesting quirk having seen a bike today running with them on the injectors are quite noisey.
