My Odyssey died recently & I now have a Deltran lithium in all 3 bikes. It was interesting finding a way to tie down that little battery in all that space under there. So now with the ABSectomy & replacing the Odyssey battery (all 15.4 lbs. of it) I've removed around 29 extra lbs. off my 1100S, all of it up high. if I include my Laser cat delete pipe & muffler I figure another 15 lbs. easily, as the cat & stock muffler are boat anchor heavy, that's around 44 lbs. of dead weight gone, a very noticeable difference in handling ease. As a side note that little bitty battery fires up the BMW faster than the Odyssey ever did, impressive.

Now we have to wait & see how long these miniature powerhouses last. I can say I'm not looking forward to peeling into there again any time soon. The one in my zx14 is close to 2 years old & has only been on a tender once for a few hours until it was charged back up after sitting for a couple months unridden, probably didn't need to charge it up anyway.

Glad I could help.

I've had mixed results ith lithium the one on my SM is 3 1/2 years old and works perfect the one on my 955 Tiger went belly up while riding and I later found out that the supplier of the new Reg/Rec I fitted does nor recommend using lithium with their product.

Lithium on an 1100s sure is a one way ticket cuz if it fails you really are up a gum tree untill you get the bike back home to fix it,we have various lithium options over here but Deltran is way over $300 what spec have you fitted.

You just put the kiss of death on it, it will now die on you on a dark, deserted road.
The only sound you hear is a faint, but getting louder live version of the Deliverance theme...

I run a big tank on my 1100s so I use PC545 put the first on in 03(which is still being used to light an inspection lamp) and put the second one in 2014 or was that 13

Chris; don't know which reg/rec you have on your Tiger but a friend with an '03 955 Daytona went through 6 oem reg/rec before he listened to me & got a Rick's reg.rec. He hasn't had any problems since. Apparently they had a bad batch & instead of canning them they just kept replacing his with the same pos again & again. Some would only last a month before crapping, the best was maybe 6 months. I don't know how a dead lithium is any worse than a dead agm, dead is dead. I can't say anything bad about the Odyssey PC680 as the PC680's lasted 7 & 8 years in mine. I just wanted to drop some weight up high as it had made such a positive difference when I removed the weight of the ABS. I wonder why Deltran is so expensive over there, we can get them for just over $100 here.

Electrex is one of the major suppliers over here and having gone back to a Yuasa all is good that's not a reflection on a lithium just me going back to the status quo,re them being dead I'll happily jump start a conventional battery not sure I'd be so happy doing the same to a lithium, that's not to say it can't be done but I haven't!!!.

Just re-checked as I see you have gone for the smaller version but still comes in around $180 but might have a look at that having changed every nut and bolt to Ti and gone for Dymags among other things to get weight off.

Yeah, I debated about going for the 360ca version but the 240ca fires up that big zx motor like nobodies business so I kept with the same one. The 360ca one goes for around $150 here on ebay so still not too expensive but unneeded to fire up everything I own. It weighs around a pound & a half according to their info but sure feels lighter in the hand.

Agm battery, some 3 or 4 years old.

Going back to the old tried and trusted pc535. That battery lasted longer than any other i ever had.
+1

I have had more than a few customers that have had poor experience with the new ultra light batteries. Have a Dakar in my shop right now that we put a AGM back in, so he could have a reliable bike.

And Florida is a long, straight, flat push home. With people randomly shooting at you. So no worries there!
