Ok.. you guys got me going.. I sold my underused KTM 300 and bought a Stelvio.. I needed something more than the R1200S for distance in the midwest (Colorado) anyhow. I found a slightly used one with upgraded suspension.... but the jury is still out. Its big, its heavy, its hard to move around not underpower.. I just don't know. Im giving it a try.. we will see. I certainly love twins though.

I've been eyeing a Beta 500 RRS. I just decreased my health insurance deductible so I should be good to go.

Nice bike!

FYI some geographic trivia. The midwest ends at the western borders of North Dakota, South Dakota, Nebraska and Kansas. Colorado is not the Midwest, it begins "The West." And is what's referred to as the Mountain Region...

Calling something east of the Rockies "the West" just feels wrong. Not to mention that Colorado east of the Rockies looks ever so similar to western Kansas. We don't need no Mountainy Zone out here in the Real West!

Ha! Well growing up in Illinois corn country, calling Colorado the midwest is also just wrong! Coloradoans aren't midwesterners!

I went with my instincts and got the Basic Black (Storm Black Metallic). It's got everything the Rallye has sans Sport suspenders mechanically. Nav6, Hillstart, the Metzelers I wanted, yadda yadda.

A '16 came up with 2500 miles and bags/Nav 5 etc in the Bay Area for $5K less a week before I had to make the decision...which complicated things.
Now... I am so glad I bought new.
This is really the superbius moto IMO.
At least for me...

...sumpitch handles mild offroad just fine too...

Sweet machine Rapid, no doubt you are loving it!

Not interested in a shroud swap but I think you can pick them up relatively cheap. What you really need though is the full Akropovic

...yeah the Akra system looks sweet.
Oddly enough I am totally satisfied with this BMW as stock, even the pegs and the seat don't need replacing. Crazy. This is the first BMW I've owned that doesn't seem to need anything.
No shocks, exhaust upgrade, ergos are just fine.
Only thing I've added is the lights, EZ-CAN, and some bag racks, and a tinted windscreen with a ZTechnik® Windscreen Stabilizer Kit.
I dressed it up a bit more this weekend with the MachineartMoto bits, Avant and Mudsling. First thing I did was put the X-Head guards on.

BTW, those Rallye shrouds...? $243 a PIECE! Yours are stainless, mine are plastic @ $76 each...
It's the one detail I overlooked. It wasn't until I got it home I realized why the Rallye and Exclusive looked different, and the one thing that realy attracted me to the Rallye...

What's not to like....

It's beautiful, rapid. Love the Mosko's. I have the smaller ones for my AT.

I have a set of Touratech Zega Pro hard panniers from my camhead that fit the racks too (black anodized).
These Mosko's are the 35L and 21?L bags.
For some reason they only make the 35's now.

I almost always buy new. However, this weekend, my R1100S found it's sibling
