Spring item number 8 fits inside Spring item number 7.
The two springs are attached to shackle item number 9.

Hopefully the center stand will fit and work OK on your bike. BMW purposely didn't put the center stand on certain configurations as the suspension sat higher and it was unstable.

RE: Center Stand Mounts

Hi Guys,

Can I get a little help here. It looks like I have to heat this thing up to get it out?
The new (used) center stand came with its own (pivots/Bushings) so looks like this one on the bike needs to be removed. Should I be heating this thing up to get it to Move or Turn out?
There is a bolt size difference...so...

See Pic...

Thanks,

Hans. Aka Slick..

Just incase some else needs to know this. These 'Nuts' can be knocked out with a ball peen hammer and the long or deep half inch socket.

Done!

Quick follow up: Photos!

Note I have a shorter Torque arm so my rear wheel still makes light contact with the floor even though I am on the center stand. Either a 2x12 or this device will get the wheels off the ground for servicing.

I just installed the center stand on my bike, thought I'd share a few tips:

Item (11) of which there are two, thread into the rear frame in an upward direction. When the bike is on the center stand the steel frame of the stand sits on the steel heads of these bolts. This will raise the bike up a bit. Without these bolts my rear tire sat on the ground, as soon as I installed them the rear tire is lifted. It DOES position the bike closer to where the bike pushes forward off the center stand, so don't park nose down hill on the center stand. I think if you have the shorter arm, your could put one or two flat washers under the bolt head and would make the stand a little taller, but also easier to get off the stand.

The sleeves (2) go into the aluminum frame, and if your bike has had a stand, these are probably already in place and you don't have to buy them. Hint, I have 2 if someone needs them. The orings (4) are hard to get on, but a little wheel bearing grease and the slip into the sleeves. The engineer in me says those sleeves keep the inserts from wearing the frame.

The springs are a pain to get on. I spent an hour trying all kinds of ways to get both springs on at a time, launching them all over the garage. I finally used a brake spring tool to put the big spring on, then put the small spring inside the large spring and was able to use a screwdriver to pull the small spring

The rubber bumper (3) rests against the cat converter and keeps the stand from banging on the lower arm. if you have a cat delete pipe you'll have issues.
