BTW, the tires on this bike are pretty old, like maybe more than 10 years, based on the tire model. So despite the ample tread I am going to replace them. This bike has the 5 inch rims, which the tire size of 170 is recommended. Unfortunately there are few choices these days if you want a sport tire in 170. The only ones I could find were the Michelin Power 2CTs and the Pirelli Diablo Rosso 2s. I ended up buying the latter and am looking forward to riding them. Supposed to be very grippy based on all the reviews.
Just buy a wider optional rear wheel makes your tyre choice far easier just check its straight because very few are.

I hadn't thought about it, but being a 1999 bike the 5" rim was standard. In 2000 that color scheme was the R1100S Special edition, which had the sport suspension, 5.5" rim and all the kitchen sink stuff thrown in...

You can put a 180 tire on a 5 inch rim. It's what was on mine when I bought it, and it's what I replaced it with.

Yeah, got Lennie's sprockets but have not installed them yet. They're in a drawer, still in the padded envelope.

Put the Induct and SJ filter (got to have it with the Induct) in a couple of months ago. It now hits the rev limiter effortlessly in all gears except maybe 6th, just haven't got there yet.

The AF-Xied is still the best single thing I did to the engine. And cheapest!!

I got your BarBacks, too.
