Exhaust was found by a local road crew in the middle lane of a 4 lane highway. Insert monster sad face here. Just spent all day yesterday repainting the magnesium endcaps getting them perfect (and no i did not take off the exhaust to do so).......

Do any other mufflers fit on the end of the two brothers pipes

No it was pretty noisy anyway. Noticed it when i got to the burbs. Not having exhausts actually made ot quieter. I miss my verlinden......

My 04 BCR came with a 2 Bro can and I hated it. Made all kinds of noise with little forward progress until you were above 6500 rpm. Try the cat delete/stock cans set up for a while - you might like it.

Not sure if we have cats here. My r1100s has the vanderlinde exhaust from the factory. It just looks like like headers, pipe with wiener ( learnt that here) and slipons. Great exhaust. Appears really well made with a subdued yet sporty note

Bugger

If I was starting again with a production pipe i’d Be looking for a Z-Technic the best can by the proverbial mile where the hell you would get one is another matter.

Not sure how much you spent to purchase this BCR but from observation of this thread so far, seems like you might be better off keeping the 04 R11S.

Boxer cup was USD 4500 with 2 unused panniers, new never hooked up heated grips with 15000 miles on it

Selling the 04 11s for USD 5500. Lots of interest - a chap is flying 1000 miles to see it monday. It has 30000 miles on it.

Boxer cup is probably half market value here and is/will be an appreciating assett.

So even with a new exhaust, tank (Usd100) and a filler neck I am still way ahead.

Now I have to do the search for a new to me exhaust. Ive read all the threads here. I know what i want. Another vandenlinde but might struggle to find one. So I'll ending up taking whatever i can get.

Will any slip on fit onto the two brothers headers and pipe?

Well it fits. Looks good but could sound a lot better..
I've spent the day scouring the country for a slip on or full system with no success

Hi,

Being in Australia I might have thought the place was awash with Staintune exhausts...

Cheers

Adrian

I have that arrangement on atm. The two brothers system with no cat and the standard muffler. A little too quiet for my liking. They must jave been silent with the cat installed

Agreed Adrian, you would think so.
I found a cheap r1100s with a staintune on it. USD 2000 but it is a 5000 mile round trip away so that won't be happening. I even suggested to the bloke very interested in my 03 r1100s that he might like a quiet bike and allow me to keep my original exhaust. Turns out he likes sports systems.
Something will turn up. It might take six months. I can't really justify the USD 800 that companies want for new slip ons. Especially since these bikes are getting older and are parted out quite regularly

Mine looks brand new. I don't ride in the rain much anymore and salt and grit are not an issue on Australian roads

Back in my VTR1000 days you could pull apart the muffler and punch a few holes in it and remove some baffles and have it sounding better for zero dollars. Can you do that on standard r1100s mufflers?

fyi when i emailed etienne van der linde about a year ago about procuring a new r1100s exhaust, he was still making them, and the website indicated stainless construction. cost was around 900usd imported but not processed through customs

however if you keep a sharp eye out, you might see my 1999 pass through some dismantler. it had a remus 2-2 on it when it was total loss'd

Never seen the point of taking an overweight stock set up and replacing it with a heavy aftermarket option but hey ho.

Jest checked the plate. The BCR is actually a 12/02 model. Which is good because I read they didn't come out in 01 which would have made it a fake.
Which also makes it the rarest of the breed. A single spark BCR. Although I'd rather an 05

Still no luck anywhere finding an exhaust or a filler neck.
