So I found a shop that will weld it. They just requested that I find out what grade of stainless the pipe is. I've reached out to Staintune regarding that and supply for the loops.

I don't want to have to put my old exhaust together to get a measurement.

I was hoping someone may be so kind as to provide me with the dimension pictured below?

Laser uses 321 stainless for their pipes and I think BMW does the same. A quality replacement should also be the same but it wouldn't be unusual to get 316 and maybe even 308. In any case, a piece of 347 welding rod for the loop tig'd with the same should be OK. I'm told that 347 should be good to weld the 321, 316 and 308 but run that by your welder as I'm no welding expert. I have tig'd small cracks in my 321 Laser header flange with 347 rod and it seems to be doing very well.

The distance on my exhaust is 75mm on one side, 80mm on the other. The 80 side appears bent out a bit. The spring mounts at the other joints are all different and up to 100mm. Mine is a full race Laser end to end so you might want to get a completely stock measure. Another way is to check the stretch on another spring, measure the new spring end to end and add that 'stretch' to it. I'm thinking between 5 and 10 mm should do it. Mine are stretched about 10mm and they break all the time. Maybe 10mm is too much.

Just FYI.... Measured the stock stretch distance and it's about 7-8mm.
