Larger Tank

Some years ago I had an initial batch of larger tanks made (4/5) that came in at 22L there was then another batch made(6/7) which were slightly larger due to errr I think the technical term is cockup two tanks came in at 24.9L of which I have one the rest were 24L as you can imagine I was never keen on folks posting photos for the copiers to see but at some time there was always going to be a time when one appeared and here it is.

Info about the battery holder and the ECU being moved is incorrect neither need any attention not even on the 24.9L but you will certainly need an Odyssey 545 as a 680 will not fit if you go for a similar design.

Non ABS of course.

Hi Chris,

I've sent Kieron an email to see if he still has it.

I reckon my arse has a little more than 160 between stops in it.

Cheers

If you get it you値l wonder how the hell you put up with the smaller tank for so long just that little bit extra means stopping for fuel when you want rather than having too.

I知 still in contact with the guy who welded them for me and must still have at least 4 stock tanks in the loft

Hi Chris,

What size o-ring is that on the filler neck?

My 1999 ring is too big by a diameter of the ring (~5mm).

Yes you are quite correct, I now need a Odyssey 545 to replace the tall odessy I have in there.

Cheers

Adrian

Blimey now your asking as I recall it痴 always been way to big but with a spray of WD jam everything underneath in the groove and press down on the neck before it all springs out but in the mean time i値l Check if I have a spare or maybe one of the guys on here know.

Hi,

I checked realoem and there is only one part for it, so it must be right.

I ordered a new one and a number of fasteners for the body panels and the screws around the airbox as they were all getting a bit too roundy.

I also got a second hand dampner for it, as my groans and creaks antil it is warm.

I got the ACF-50 out as well.

Good soaking.

Cheers

The O-rings often soak up the petroleum and grow. I've found if I let them dry out for several days to a week they shrink back to size...good luck...

A few minutes in boiling water accelerates the process.

Is this still a happening thing? Think it would it work on an '04 with servo ABS? Any idea on price range? 6 liters is not a huge amount of fuel, but would sure take the worry out of long intervals in the Western US, as well as forestall that annoying light coming on a commuting day earlier than I would like.

Currently in the South of France en route to the Aragon GP but the simple answer to your question yes I can still get them done, but postage to the States would be into the stratosphere unless you know someone visiting the UK who could take one back as hand luggage.
