Rear Fender

Tired of washing the back end al the time. I need a rear hugger fender for my 1999 R1100S. Looking for suggestions on options. Carbon fiber would be nice, but they appear pretty expensive, unless there is a good source that you know of that is moderately priced.

Pyramid has plastic or carbon - Pryamid R1100S Huggers Can't speak to the fit/finish, but I've used their front extender successfully in the past.

Pretty sure the Pyramid hugger is designed for the 170 rear tire. Might not fit well if you have the wider 180 rear.

Anecdotal evidence: Pyramid Plastic Rear Hugger

It works fine with a 180 rear. The problem I had was it was flexing all over the place at speed in the mountains so I jettisoned it for a shock sock. Seems the single sided mount wasn't stiff enough to keep it from moving around when I was screaming through the twisties.

Try Ilmberger (Ilmberger Carbon)
Not inexpensive, but an excellent product. It looks great and is nice enough that I recently bought a second one to replace the one that broke after 15 years of use.

Need to be careful with 'inexpensive ' rear huggers as they can break off their mount and jamm themselves between the front of rear tire and swing arm. I have an Ilimberger but have not put it on my bike as I'm not sure I'd be happy with the look. Luckily, I have access to a very good pro pressure washer so it's not an issue for me

Have a friend follow you with one of these on your bike with a video camera, you'll see why I dumped mine. They move all over the place at speed regardless of brand. A shock sock such as from Ohlins keeps it clean & weighs next to nothing.

A couple layers of carbon uni on the underside stabilize the hugger.. keep it clear of a 180
