R1100S will not go into gear after spline lube.

Hi All,

I did a spline lube/clutch inspection over the winter with just over 76k on the bike. After reassembling the bike it starts fine but will not go into gear. It has the same notchy feel when shifting but the power output to my rear wheel is zero, it feels like the clutch is always pulled in. I am seeing if anyone has had this happen and what caused it. I am thinking it is in the clutch slave cylinder or clutch rod being jammed up and keeping the clutch plates always spread apart?? The rod is in the correct orientation but is there seating between the rod ends and clutch or slave cylinder that may have caused it? There is no noise when you let out the clutch in gear when the bike is running.

Thanks for any help/ideas on the subject!
Mike

Are you sure the drive shaft lined up with trans output shaft and final drive during reassembly?

Bike off on center stand. Can you turn rear wheel? What does the clutch feel like? Can you shift it into gear with engine off?

Thanks guys for the assistance.

wswartzwel thanks for pointing me in the right direction. It is the shaft and the spline to the final drive that was not assembled correctly. Much easier fix than tearing off the transmission to get to the clutch

Thanks again for the help!
