Replacing r1200s starter motor

Hello,
Has anyone replaced a start motor ? Looking to use 12317691956 from a R1200r. Essentially, do we need any specific tool, washer and such ?

Cheers,

Mine looks just like the R11xx bikes to me, which are easy as they look. If you need an R1200S starter, I have one but I'd bet money the R1200R one works...

My recent replacement came from a GS. If I remember correctly it was a Bosche unit made in Hungary.

No special tools required.

New Starter

If you have not purchased your starter yet, purchase from:
https://www.euromotoelectrics.com
Great outfit and so much less expensive than a BMW dealer, they are very knowledgeable, and will fix you up with an OEM starter.
Did a starter on my R1200RT because of Houston flood waters. Very straight forward but did have to remove mounting bolts of something related to oxygen sensor attached to catalytic converter to get more room to remove/install starter. It was simple though.
