Maintenance for this Bike

Is the maintenance for this bike very complicated and involved? If I plan to bring the bike to my country I doubt the local BMW dealer will accept looking at my bike plus they don't sell the S1000RR in latin america. I am a very proficient mechanic and have restored and built many car engines and also take care of my R1100S.
Any of you guys with a manual care to share some info please.

Thanks mates. SmileWavy

Rique,
imo you won't have any problem getting work done on your bike if its the big city, but you working on it will be a problem. other than changing the oil and tickering the little bits you'll need a computer and proper software to do any tuning.

Jeff, I think I'm in over my head. This is a high tech bike that probably needs a truck load of
special tools to keep it in proper working order. Plus I am not too happy with buying any first gen product. I will relax and think it over real slow.

Rique, it is hard to own a high tech bike if there are no dealers nearby. I'd think about it and make the decision before you ship it south. If it was an impulse buy you may want to have a friend up here show the bike for you.

why don't you call bmw north america or laurence the pr guy and find out IF the bike can be worked on in Bolivia

We have a dealer here called Andar Motors BMW. They sell both cars and bikes. I now the S1000RR has not yet made it to South America period. All the new bikes I see here are 90% GS some RT but no HP's or the like. I understand there is a computer for the Bike, can't recall the name. Maybe that computer is also applicable to the S1000RR if so I i'm in the clear.
I will call the guys at bmw USA...
