I'm looking for an old 2002 to make into a vintage club racer. But what I don't know is what is the newest year the car can be to qualify for vintage? I know I could get this info by joining scaa and buying rule book(which I am going to do soon). But for now does anybody have the answer? thanx Barry

A quick scan through the SCCA book didn't show anything. I know a guy who vintage races his 77 or 78 RX-7 in VP. It used to be any car 25+ years old but I'm not sure now. I know my 914 qualifies, not that it is any condition to race.

Barry,
It really depends on what vintage club you decide to join and what part of the country you live in, because they are sort of regional in nature. Some are stricter than others about inclusion. The SCCA is really not the club you want. See this website for a list of vintage racing clubs: www.vintagemotorsport.com Have fun, Stan

1973...
rount' here, the cutoff's '68 or 69 for SOVREN, but since the 2002 carried through to 1973 'virtually unchanged' (their words, not mine) any roundie is legal.
Mods are whatever is 'in the spirit' of what would have been done in '68... Strange bunch, the vintage guys, but they do have fun.. t |
