X5 Throttle response

I recently purchased an 2004 X5 3.0 with automatic and found that it has a severe throttle response problem. It's almost to the point of being a safety problem. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

My dealer claims that BMW is working on new software, but he doesn't know when it will be available. Is this just a line to stall me for a while?

Is there anything that can be done to correct the problem, Dinan chip, reprogramming, etc. ???

Thumbs up

Response to BMW Motorrad:

Thanks for your help on my throttle response question. My dealer actually contacted BMW and received new software. It was installed yesterday and the throttle response seems to be greatly improved. At least the throttle response is to the point where the X5 is driveable.

Originally, the Service Manager was on vacation and the technician dealing with the problem did not know exactly what to do. After I contacted the Manager, things started to happen and in a good way.

Thanks again.

BMW Motorrad,

I have a 2004 x5 3.0 with the same issue. Should I refer to the same reference number that you mentioned above to schedule it to have it fixed?
