IDrive Address Book cannot access iPhone4 Contacts
 

It appears that my vehicle Navigation System has lost the ability to access my Contacts list in my iPhone4 for the purpose of adding destinations into the vehicle address book.

I have used this procedure many times in the past to input destinations directly from my iPhone4 Contacts; but now the vehicle Navigation system appears not to be able to access, or even recognize the existence of, the iPhone Contacts List. I reported this to my local BMW Service Center & they were not able to provide an explanation or corrective action.

It is noteworthy that the telephone aspect appears to be working well and reads the phone numbers/names from my iPhone without error (addresses are not shown in this operation, only the phone number/name)..

I am running the latest available updates in the iPhone & in the vehicle. My iPhone4 is running ver. 7.1(11D169) & the vehicle has the following software versions:
Multimedia: MX-003.005.004
Telephone: TX-003.005.006

Has anyone else seen this problem? Any help would be appreciated.

I should have included that the vehicle is a 2012 X5 3.0 iDrive Premium.
