2004 X5 4.4i Won't Shift From 1st

Just this evening, I noticed that my X5 does not shift into gear, it just stays at an accelerated pace. What's the problem? Can I drive on it for a few days or is it bad to do so? Thanks.

I would have someone look at this asap, as you do not want to damage the trans even more. Try to get the codes read as well; this will give you a great place to start troubleshooting. Best of luck!
