Temperature Gauge-Red - HELP!

I have a 2006 x5 E53, ton of things have been done to the car. Coolant temp sensor replaced and coolant added, a DME & EWS replaced and many other things.
The new thing is the car temp. gauge is going all the way to the red after driving less than 15 miles. the car is not overheating, any ideas of what I need to do?

Might be the coolant sensor - any codes getting thrown? Take a look at the link below if it ends up being the coolant sensor issue - common that it displays the incorrect engine temp.

Thank you.
codes we get are low coolant-P112b
multiple misfire p0300
Cylinder 3 misfire P0303
cylinder 7 misfire p0307
cylinder 2 misfire p0302
cylinder 6 misfire p0306

we had the Coolant temp sensor replace, susp level sensor, and they added coolant.

dealer replaced ign coils #3,6,7 that is why I took it back to them because those were the codes it was giving us, we took it back, and they told me it was the battery that we needed to register, that is the reason it's misfiring because of low voltage.

the car is doing the same thing with hard start and temp gauge all the way to the red side.
