replacing the hood release cable on 2007 x3 3.0si

Hello all new X3 owner here,

I am completely stumped as to how to get the new cable through the same hole in came from. i've searched all over the internet for information or videos but none are specific to my vehicle. the problem with the X3 is that the cable runs through a hole and under the E-box and you are unable to see where it goes from there

am i suppose to remove the e-box? i've tried removing the 4 torx screws to try to lift it out of the way but it turned out to be just the cover. trying to remove the whole box looks like a nightmare because of all the wiring thats inside of it and im scared that i could easily damage something in the electrical system.

any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I was able to find a limited amount of information on this procedure, but have included the link I found below. This procedure is likely listed in the Bentley workshop manual - I've attached a link for it below as well. Lastly, I also attached a link to our site's DIY tech articles on the E83 platform to help you in the future with maintenance and repairs. Please let us know if you have any questions!

thanks Dmitry,

looks like the e-box cover is removed but doesn't say anything else after that.
