BMW Roundel 2008 X5 E70 Strut

This might be a dumb question...
Trying to get the strut out of my x5 but has a wishbone straddling the driveshaft which won't allow you to remove it. Anyone have an answer or thought on how to get this to come out? The wishbone can be loosened at the top (strut rests inside the collar) but there's not enough room to either lift the strut or pull the wishbone off.

Appreciate any help.

Hello and welcome to the forum! We have a DIY tech article for the E53 X5 which should have a similar procedure for removal. I'm attaching the link below to that article, I hope it helps you a bit.

Appreciate the post Pelican Parts however, the E53 doesn't have the double wishbone arm at the bottom... still can't figure out how to get this off... anyone think that I need to take the axle off??
