Leaking Sunroof/Luggage Rack Rails??

Morning everyone,

Well, took the plunge 4 months ago and picked up a new 2006 X5 3.0. While it's my first BMW, I've watched my father own 2 X5 4.4's with little trouble and an enjoyable few years of ownership. BUT, this 3.0 for me has been a little less than stellar in the area of reliability.

My main issue is that either the sun roof or the luggage racks are leaking water, which makes it's way into the cabin. After a good hard rain, I'll get water dripping from the overhead center console when I move the car for the first time after the rain. Also, condensation builds in the mirrors in the sunvisors ( I suspect water gets there through vanity mirror lights, which is housed in the headliner, not the visor itself )

Anyways, I took it to the dealer a couple weeks ago, and after having a garden hose running on the roof for several hours, they weren't able to duplicate my concern. However, they were able to get the LH headlight housing to fill up with water ( Argh ). Anyways, the truck is at the dealer right now for that. Anyone experienced similiar issues??

I am now on my third new panoramic sunroof on two new cars and the roof is leaking again the tell me there is not a problem I have just been unlucky what can I do they want to replace this one it will be alright ( I think not) if you have same prob contact me on robertsonjock@googlemail.com
