Windshield wipers won't turn off
 
On my 1998 BMW Z3 1.9, the windshield wipers will not turn off. They change from speed to speed properly but will not turn off. I am assuming that since there is no wiper relay that there is a wiper module that may have died. Anyone have thoughts on how to diagnose without just replacing?

Not sure for a Z3, but for a Z4, grease gets on the mechanical/electrical wheel inside the motor. wiping the grease off fixes the problem.
