Z 3 airconditioning refrigerant refilling

Any advice on using refrigerant refilling kits , or is this a specialist job?

I have always gone to a shop that does it. You need gauges and know how to use them and the right amount of refrigerant to put in. You may need to evacuate the system first and then put in the new.

Hi
I had my A/C checked by an A/C shop . they found a leak .changed an O ring and refilled it with a LOT of refrigerant. The techie said that the condenser fan was not working , but they were not available from our local friendly BMW dealer Before I invest in some thing at unobtainiaum price
Do I really need a fan ?Where can I find a sketch of the A/C loop, and a wiring diagram ?
There's probably a lot of electrcal reasons why the fan does not run !

Check ebay, there are some listed which might work.

Z 3 Air conditioning continued

Checked out the electrics , relays and fuses , except fuse 48 a 40 amp fuse in the auxiliary fuse box . Where is this fuse box?
There is one last electrical check at the connector to the fan motor . I think this is the hefty connector on the right hand side of the radiator . This has heavy wires running through it , How much power does the fan draw ??
If I need to replace the fan ,I will have to strip out a lot of the front end to gain access to the fastenings . Has any one done this ?? Any suggestions ??
Thanks in advance
