Red light, roof

2008 z4. I replaced the roof motor without removing the roof. The roof opens as it should. Its the closing that is a problem. Once its down in the well unless I lift it manually a 1/4 to 1/2" the pump won't lift up at all. If I pick it up that little bit then the pump does its job and the roof closes. So if I open the roof but stop just short of it shutting off automatically [ie: red roof light off and motor stopping} the motor will lift and close the roof when I activate it. However the red blinking roof will be on all of time the roof is open. Is there a sensor to adjust so this problem can be fixed? Thank you
