Weird electrical problem

I have a '99 Z3. Am experiencing an intermittent electrical problem involving the guages, radio, windows, clock and convertible roof. Some mornings when I start the car, the clock has lost the setting, the radio requires the security code to be re-entered, the roof won't go up or down, and the automatic aspect of the windows going "up" (not down) is lost. Monday I started the car at least 8 times and the guages (fuel and oil, not speedometer) wouldn't work and the radio had to have the security code entered. Then on Tuesday, after starting the car three times, everything started working again. I've had the battery and connectors checked and they are all excellent. Any ideas where this problem might be coming from?
