broken motor mount bolts z4 m
Hello All,
My friends M4 just went in the shop because SHE broke the motor mount bolts. Dealer told her she takes corners too fast! WTF! That's what the car is for! Does anyone know about any problems with this situation. It's a 2007 model coupe. You may have seen it on some Pelican Runs with the Porsche guys. Any info is apprecited. The good news is they are going to warranty.

There is a BMW issue TSB for this problem. The bolts were weak. The dealer needs to fix them for free. All the other bolts should also be tested.
![]() There have been several reports of this on Z4Ms. It should be repaired under warranty.

^what he wrote. It's a known issue with the coupes, apparently a side effect of the chassis being so much more rigid than the roadster. Give them the TSB number and escalate the matter to BMW NA.

Going forward, I would advise your friend to take anything a dealer tells her about he M Coupe with a huge grain of salt. There are 1800 of these on the North American continent, so few dealers have seen any. The ones that have are most doing free oil changes.
