Engine Coolant Sensor Location 2.8L Z3
So, I'm a bit confused and am looking for help. I just bought a 2000 Z3 with a 2.8L engine and got a P0125 code (ECT Sensor Insufficient for Closed Loop Fuel Control). Whether than testing and deciding on what parts to replace, I have just decided to replace the Thermostat and the ECT sensor. The only problem is, I can't find where the ECT sensor actually is... My car seems fine, I haven't had any problems, the needle is always straight up, no fluctuations (it's a BMW so I look at the temp gauge constantly). I've heard several things from a few other BMW owners about what it could be between the two, so I figure regardless of what it is, having both new parts won't hurt the car any. So, where exactly is the sensor that might be causing the P0125 code?

Hello and welcome to the forum! Take a look at the link below to one of our DIY tech articles. The coolant temp sensor is located at the front of cylinder head on the left side - there is a photo in the article. Hope this helps you out!
