PS Reservoir replacement

Anyone ever replace just the top section of the PS reservoir? Mine had bad seals so I am replacing it, but I can't get it to tighten down. Are there any tricks to getting the 1/4 turn plastic nut to catch the grooves? I lubed up the orings but just can't get it to catch and get it tight.
