cd changer

my 97 base, has an underhood, 6 cd factory changer. my 05 base has not, can this be moved the 05 stereo book mentions the item in question. upper compartment in front 05 trunk appears to have the room and a box for dvd nav and the cd changer. anyone done this? tips?

Have a look at the wiring harness on the 05. Might already be there. Compare the CD connection from the 97. Could be straight plug and play.

Won't work, the 97 is communicating via twisted pair wires, the 05 is a Most optic system.

JFP is correct. I've put the 6 disk in both my 987s. You need a new optic cable to go from a non-6D to 6D. The new cable has a connector to the player. Call Suncoast for the correct cable. Then you have to have the dealer reprogram the radio so it knows the player is available and your disk # shows up on the display.
