Front Control Unit Replacement help
I have a 2005 Boxster S and I think I zapped my front control unit when I used microfiber cloths attempting to polish headlight. I get the 'Visit Workshop' message. After doing some reading on this forum, I think that's it. So picked up another one off ebay after unsuccessfully trying to clear the error code. Now how to install. I think its located in the frunk on the passenger side. But I cant move the carpet back enough to get to it cleanly. Any help would be appreciated. Also, once in I think I either need to take it into a shop to re-program the part or buy/rent a PIWIS unit to do it. First i need to get it off the car... Attached is a pic of where I think it is. (also sorry if this ends up posting twice. I think first time failed but not sure now)

Hello and welcome to the forum! Take a look at the 2 links below, you're definitely not the first one that this has happened to. Let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with any future part needs. Hope this helps you out!

Thanks for the links. Looks like my same problem. I did find the location of the unit. Next question. There are some modules which cannot be purchased used and are single programming only. I think this part can be re-programmed but has anyone else have experienced in re-using a used? I don't wan to buy a $145 paper weight from the wrecker..
Also, I know you need a PIWIS if you can reprogram it, but there is another maker like Durametric that will do the same? |
