Hello and welcome to the forum! I would suggest joining our 986 forum that specifically deals with the Boxster and Cayman platform. There are likely quite a few members that can give you insight into the various ones and which ones they prefer.
Please let us know if you have any other questions or if we can assist with any future part needs. |

Dmitry - I'm not mmorris9492 - but he owns a 2011 Cayman. That is a 987.2 NOT a 986. And PDK wasn't available on the 986 models.
NMorris - to answer your question - there are two oils used in the PDK transmission. One lubricates the clutch and control circuits. That's the expensive oil - dual-clutch FFL-3 and the transmission takes about 5.2 liters of it - meaning you must buy 6. Dunno what Pelican charges for it, but the cheapest I've seen it for sale is around $25/liter - so $150 worth of oil. To change that oil your need a PIWIS, Durametric or another device capable of reading the transmission temperature. The other oil lubricates the gears - it's a simple hypoid gear oil, available from lots of vendors - and no particular preference on that. HTH
