Looking at a Cayman...2014 S...about 25k and two owner....Porsche dealership and certified with a 2 year unlimited mileage warranty.

I just sold a 14 CS w/ PDK & 44K mi for $43. It may have been the lowest priced 14 CS in the US and had a ton of maintenance done to it, incl new tires & brake pads and 2 keys. It seemed the mileage held it back. Most of the cars I was competing against had 15-30K mi and ranged in price from $46-52. A 25K mi CPO CS at a Porsche dealer will probably be priced at the $52 range (or should be). Remember, CPO generally adds $3K to the price. Is the CPO worth the extra $$$ to you? Porsche didn't sell a lot of manuals, so it might be a while before you find another one. Is that OK? We are heading into winter and prices will be depressed, so better deals may be ahead if you're not in a hurry and willing to travel.
When determining price, you need to consider tires, maintenance, # of keys, etc. You can easily run up $2-3K if you need tires, brakes, coils & plugs, and only 1 key (costs $500 to buy & program). Similarly priced cars may not turn out to be the same value if something isn't up to par in one of them. A CPO car should be up to snuff, but lately that's not always been the case. Options also influence price, as well as mods. You mentioned manual trans as important to you. Others may want vented seats or X73 suspension. I monitored other 14 CSs for sale when I had mine and there was one for sale that had a lot of track mods done. For someone wanting a track car, those mods would be appreciated. For the person who only wanted a w/e car, they may not want a car that's obviously been tracked. Bottom line, Cayman Ss could be optioned a myriad of ways so if you find "the one", you might want to snap it up as the next one might be a ways down the road. I've never regretted paying a bit more for a car that is exactly what I want. On the flip side, my dad liked to say there's always another car around the corner. So there ya go.

Well....if they get off a few more bucks I'll be driving to pick it up....so far they have been 'compliant'...well, as much as dealers are that is.....
Looking forward to a fun daily driver.

Is this a Porsche CPO or some dealer warranty? You don't refer to it as CPO, so just wondering.
If it is CPO, that means Porsche dealership has gone through it and confirms tires, brakes, fluids, etc, are all good as well as no more than 1 panel may have been repaired. If it's just a 2 yr warranty from some insurer the dealer sells, then all the items mentioned above are caveat emptor. There's a BIG difference so it's important to know what's what.

Here's a base 14 Cayman with PDK that has been up for sale for about a year. Fly in to Jackson, I'll give you a ride to Montgomery via strip mall BBQ with the fellas in Meridian.

If the '14 S with 6-speed "floats your boat", it sounds like it does, buy it! If it's overpriced $2500 and you keep it 5 years, you're talking just over $40 a month or a tank of gas! Unless, of course, you like shopping more than driving!
