2001 Boxster S Fuel gauge question
I picked up this Boxster in August and love the car but just noticed that when I fill the tank it takes up to 20 minutes for the fuel gauge to respond and show a full tank... IMO it should react nearly immediately as other cars do...
Need advice on what might need replacing...sending unit in the tank would be my guess Thanks in advance Dog

My '01 986 S is slow as well, but only shows 3/4 of a tank after a filling up.... I guess its the in tank sending unit that is causing the issue.

You guys are lucky, My 2000 sending unit failed on me while on track @ Willow Springs Raceway in the desert in CA. I ran the tank dry & the engine stopped. I killed the battery trying to restart it. I was about 80 miles from home. Never thought to add fuel since the gauge showed 1/2 full. Longest tow truck ride I have ever had.
Sometimes the fuel gauge needs to be recalibrated |
